Autodesk FBX Review is a freeware 3D model viewing application that supports several of Autodesk's model types but more specifically FBX files.
As a tool that was designed for viewing these types of models, it is not capable of editing them. With that said, a full suite of 3D editing software is required for that but FBX Review can open and view them.
Easily open and view FBX, ASF, DXF and other files
The program can open FBX, DAE, DXF and other files and once opened inside the application, you can view the models in several different ways. The default views are perspective, top, front and left. In the perspective view, you can change the angle and axis at which you can view the model. Other options include tessellation, shading, wireframe, faceted and textured.
In the various viewing modes supported by FBX Review, you can open the settings dialog and change the different options such as enabling wireframe overlay, scene lights and real-time shadows. Two different tessellation modes exist in the form of static and dynamic with an option to change the tessellation division factor in the form of a slider.
Other options include the toggling of geometry deformations, back-face culling and vertical synchronization.
All in all, Autodesk FBX Review is a great program for opening and viewing a few different types of 3D models but for editing these types of files, a much larger and more expensive package is required.

Autodesk FBX Review is provided under a freeware license on Windows from 3D design with no restrictions on usage. Download and installation of this PC software is free and 1.5.4.0 is the latest version last time we checked.
What version of Windows can Autodesk FBX Review run on?
Autodesk FBX Review can be used on a computer running Windows 11 or Windows 10. Previous versions of the OS shouldn't be a problem with Windows 8 and Windows 7 having been tested. It's only available as a 64-bit download.
